Introducing... Letterland Intervention 1

Letterland's new Intervention Pack 1 has arrived! Grounded in the latest intervention research and aligned with Letterland’s award-winning Kindergarten and Grade One curriculum, these resources give you the tools necessary to provide rigorous, highly effective small group instructions to students struggling with foundational literacy skills in grades K-2.

We understand that sometimes the best way to learn about a new range is to test it out, so here's an interactive sample lesson plan for you to try before you buy!

Please note that this range is designed to be used in US schools, or schools following an American curriculum.

"Letterland Intervention 1 provides the more intensive instruction that is critical for students who struggle to master basic literacy skills including those who do so because of specific learning disabilities including dyslexia."

- Rebecca H. Felton, Ph.D.

Project Director and Co-Principal Investigator, Behavioral Definition and Subtyping of Dyslexia, NIH/NICHD 1986-1995

Key Features

Screening, Placement and Diagnosis

Clear guidance on screening and placement will help you identify students who need small group literacy intervention. Five criterion-referenced assessments for diagnosis and grouping considerations will ensure maximum progress.

Differentiated Instruction

The pull-out Blueprints form the framework of your daily lessons and allow you to match your student’s needs. The Strategic and Intensive Blueprints include brief instruction for each activity and include scaffolding suggestions to help you provide more support when needed and more challenge when children are ready.

Step-by-Step Lessons

Structured lessons feature multi-sensory phonics strategies with opportunity for phonemic awareness. Vocabulary development, regular text-based practice, comprehension support and rapid word recognition are all integrated into the lessons which will motivate students to master literacy skills.

Monitoring Progress

Checkpoints, Fluency Lists and Lesson Logs will enable you to make data-based decision making on instructional pacing. Section Assessments are criterion-referenced with target scores to help you decide if students are ready to progress.

Supporting Products

Lots of reading practice with sentences to build and read, Phonics Readers, an activity bank full of games and activities to support learning, word lists including high frequency words integrated into learning and an extensive downloadable support.

Intervention 1 is designed for both strategic and intensive instruction, and works as a stand-alone intervention.
